Firm History

The founding partners of Pulley, Watson, King & Lischer – Paul Pulley, Richard Watson and Mal King – first joined forces in June of 1982. After outgrowing their original Brightleaf Square offices, they moved into their current headquarters in the downtown Durham complex in 1985.

Tracy Lischer joined the firm the same year and became a partner in 1987. Mike O'Foghludha and Bill Stanford followed two years later. More recently, Charlie Carpenter and Guy Crabtree merged their practices with Pulley Watson in the late 90s. Paul Pulley retired as partner in 1998, and Bill Stanford is also now retired.

Over the years, what began as a general practice civil law firm gradually concentrated on personal injury and civil litigation, while retaining its strength in commercial legal matters.
