Case Story 2

The Case:

Roger, a professional athlete was the victim of an assault. Due to the physical injuries he sustained, Roger was never able to play professional sports again and the career he had trained for was suddenly over.

The Investigation:

The defendant attempted to downplay the extent of the injuries he had caused. To counter his claims, Pulley Watson had models created that showed the victim's skull, and was able to clearly exhibit just how significant the injuries were. Our attorneys consulted with sports agents to detail the huge financial loss our client would suffer due to the early end of what could haven been a long professional career. The settlement presentation also included highlights from his playing days, which served to show his talent and love for the game.

The Results:

Pulley Watson was successful in recovering damages – enough to provide a regular monthly income, based on his professional earning potential, for the remainder of our client's life.

Case Story 3

The Case:

Lance was an NCAA soccer player, guarding the leading scorer in the nation during an intercollegiate game. In a moment of anger, the other player punched Lance and broke his jaw. The ball was at the other end of the field when this happened, and no witnesses who had actually seen the punch could be located. The perpetrator was suspended by the conference.

The Results:

Pulley Watson attorneys brought a suit on Lance's behalf against the other player. We were able to earn the first verdict ever awarded in North Carolina for an injury sustained on a sports field. Lance's damages were recovered by garnishing the defendant's wages.
